Another delightful Al Clark book! The author has created an excellent sequel to the first Al Clark book.

Another delightful Al Clark book! The author has created an excellent sequel to the first Al Clark book.
The story is set in a believable future, chocked full of danger, robots, and dangerous critters.
I absolutely loved the ending paragraph.
I highly recommend these two books to anyone who loves a good fast moving adventure.

I have to admit that I don't generally read sci-fi but thought I'd give this book a go. And I'm so glad I did! Yes, spaceships and dinosaurs are an unlikely mix but Jonathan G Meyer pulls it off. The story is an easy read, with just enough background on the characters to get to know them without protracted life stories. The setting is wonderfully explained and you get a real feel for the colony. And whilst the sci-fi is there, it is not the main focus and does not batter you over the head with complex technical jargon or over-imaginative concepts. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it can can't wait for the next one.

Reminds me of the old Heinlein or Bradbury books I read as a child.

I read the first Al Clark book and liked it a lot. This one I liked even better! The author is growing as a writer as his characters have grown. I hate to give away spoilers so I'll keep this generic so I don't give everything away, though I was surprised at what Al Clark and gang find in the mountain. (And you will, too.) This book, as well as the first one, still reminds me of the old Heinlein or Bradbury books I read as a child with a touch of Star Trek and Star Gate. Simple, direct but heartfelt. I am looking forward to the third one and the others to follow as this writer improves; as I'm sure he will.
